Could we actually survive in an equal world?
Now, it may just be my so-called posh-bird-streak showing through, but I have a horrible feeling that the answer to the title of this article is a whopping great NO.
Imagine walking down the street and seeing this:
Everyone is the same. Similar clothes, nothing flashy. You never see anyone who looks upper class or lower class – everyone, no matter who they are and what colour they are, is equal. Even the sound of feet on pavement is the same all over the world. You can walk for miles and see nobody who has that spark of energy that comes with arrogance of despair.
Say you’re buying horse insurance – come on, I’m a posh bird, so this is my dream! – and when you call up the insurance company the girl on the other end of the line sounds like you. The same equality woes, the same old thing that you wake up with every day. Would that really be interesting? Probably not but it would be fairer, and fairer would surely be better for mankind?
I also know for a fact that many people just don’t want it fair…
