Temper Tantrums - Stay Calm It Will Pass

Why is it that children have temper tantrums? Why does it seem they always want to throw one when you are out in public? Temper tantrums are a way for children to express their anger and frustration. Tantrums are common in both boys and girls and is a normal thing in toddlers. I remember when I was in a toy store with my four year old and she started throwing a temper tantrum because I told her she couldn’t have a new set of baby clothing for her favourite doll. All it took was for her to turn around and see the display of teddy bears for her to forget all about it.
When your child is throwing a tantrum it is best to remain calm. If you yell and scream your child will respond negatively. Also, during a tantrum, do not waste your time trying to reason with your child because they will not listen to reason. There is no reason that your child’s tantrum should result in your hair loss. And as the best answer is normally the simplest, it is the same with this case, just remain calm. Simply ignore the tantrum and then talk with your child after they are through. This not only shows your child that you are not going to be responsive to tantrums, but that you still love them and are willing to talk afterwards.
