How I Was Able To Fire My Boss 7 Years Ago

When asked to talk about myself, usually the first thing I talk about was having the ability to fire my boss over 7 years ago and begin my journey as a stay at home mom and entrepreneur. I think I like to talk about this because it was always a passion of mine to be able to stay home with my kids and earn an income as well.

When I first left my job as a customer service manager for a newspaper company, I was getting involved in my own home based business. I am still with that business as of today. I didn’t take right off and begin to earn thousands of dollars, in fact it took me several years before I really saw any progress in my business. Now, that is total dedication right?

In any event, I went on to work some other part time gigs (from home) such as phone work to supplement my “very part time” home business income. I got quickly bored of being on phones in my own home so I began my home career as an article writer. I didn’t even know I could write! I started off by writing for myself and promoting affiliate products and and building myself a decent size portfolio of articles. I then went on to write for personal clients and earning money with each article.

At this point in my life, I am still writing for both myself and personal clients as well as running a successful home based business. I have surpassed the income I was making at my full time job and couldn’t be happier. When other moms come up to me and ask if it was worth it to quit such a stable job and if I thought they could do it too, my answer is always a definite yes!

Elizabeth’s surprise pre-wedding weekend: I think I know what we should do. We should book some val d’isere ski as a surprise.
