Essential oils are essentially not oils. They are plant extracts, which are generally not soluble in water. The one important thing to remember is that essential oils are to be used as additives to any product you use.
Essential oils have an odour and therein lies their significance. The fragrances have important therapeutic and cosmetic value and are therefore used as flavouring agents and perfumes.
